Most yoga classes teach you poses.
They don't teach you how to move between them.
That's the gap that keeps intermediate practitioners stuck — endlessly repeating the same poses, feeling like they're missing something, but not quite sure what.
Here's what's actually missing: the mechanical intelligence that makes transitions possible.
❌ Holding Crow in isolation — but having no idea how to link it to anything
❌ Attempting drop-backs through sheer willpower (and hoping your spine cooperates)
❌ Watching advanced transitions on video and thinking "I'm just not built for that"
❌ Getting to a wall in your practice with nothing structured to push through it
❌ Training flexibility without the strength mechanics that actually make it safe
❌ Feeling like advanced movement is reserved for "other" practitioners — not you

One of Anand’s greatest attributes is his continual quest for knowledge and understanding. Like a scientist, he strives to incorporate new information to his teachings, recognizing that we are all students regardless of position. So many yoga practices today are teaching just physical fitness or what I would consider aerobics and that’s ok if that is what a student is looking for. But for those that want to discover truth and understanding than there are few teachers today that can provide the perspective and learning offered by Anand.

I started practicing yoga and fell in love with the movement and power my body got but I was never able to really do poses without getting hurt or having a really hard time. I was NOT Flexible like most people. I practiced with Anand, and his body mechanics, his cues and I dare say magic way of getting me into poses helped me do asanas I'd never dream of - even if they weren't perfect - I felt so embodied! Highly recommend.
20 days. A clear method. Real progression.
Here's how Arc & Rise is designed to work:
Phase 1 — Foundations: Build the wrist resilience, thoracic mobility, and core compression that make everything else possible — starting on Day 1.
Phase 2 — Mechanics: Refine the technical details that make arm balances lighter and more controlled. Hand placement, hip positioning, compression drills, and arm balance linking.
Phase 3 — Integration: Put it all together. Link arm balances, progress Eka Pada Koundinyasana into chin stand, enter arm balances from inversions, and prepare your body for drop-back mechanics and rebound.
Each phase is designed to support the next and to help your body understand a new way of moving. 3 main practices supported by smaller focused ones to take your awareness into new heights.

Each day includes a short focused practice (10–20 minutes) designed to progressively build the skills needed for arm balances.
Build the strength and awareness needed for safe lifting.
Learn the often-missing details that make arm balances accessible.
Apply everything you've learned to specific arm balances.
Accountability, support, and community with fellow practitioners going through the training
Return to the training anytime. Repeat phases. Revisit sessions. This is yours to keep.

I've been teaching yoga since 1995, and I created Skanda Yoga because I believe your body deserves to be taught how it actually works — not just what shape to make.
I've guided students through thousands of hours of practice, written three books on yoga mechanics, and built Arc & Rise specifically because I kept seeing the same gap in intermediate practitioners: all the desire to go deeper, with none of the structural tools to get there.
This training is what I wish every advanced student had from the beginning.

No. You should be comfortable with an intermediate yoga practice, but you do not need to already balance in Crow or any other arm balance. We’ll build from foundations toward more complex variations, and you can repeat practices as often as you like.
You get lifetime access. Even though it’s structured as a 20-day challenge, you can move at your own pace, repeat weeks, or revisit specific practices anytime you want a refresh.
You’ll need a yoga mat and enough space to move comfortably. Blocks and a bolster or firm pillow are helpful but optional. Everything is demonstrated with simple, accessible setups.
Please check with your healthcare provider first. Inside the challenge you’ll find specific wrist-prep and strength-building practices, plus options for modifying load. Always listen to your body and skip anything that doesn’t feel right.
Yes. You’ll see exactly how each pose is broken down, plus you’ll receive the “Teaching Arm Balances Safely” bonus guide with language, progressions, and safety considerations you can bring directly into your classes.
